SCHOOL COMPOUND
More trees have been added on the compound, mostly along the fence all round. This is to help in providing shade and controlling the wind by creating a wind breaker. We have planted a total of 283 different types of tree.
CHILDREN
We now have a total of 201 pupils of different ages:

TEACHERS
201 pupils need proper care and much attention. There are 9 teachers, 2 male and 7 female. The teachers receive just a token wage at the end of the month. They are dedicated and faithful to God. Handling these children needs a person with a pure heart.
SUPPORTING STAFF
There is a watchman who stays within the school compound. A lady supports the work by supplying the school with 10 buckets of water every day and preparation of porridge for lunch.
FEEDING PROGRAMME
This is a very important part of the work of the school and one hot meal is provided every day. The menu varies from maize and millet porridge with beans as available. For some children, this meal is the only hot meal they ever get.
Porridge is very vital since we deal with very small children who cannot stay all day at school without having something to eat.
FACILITIES
There are now 7 permanent brick built classrooms, all with good roofs and cemented floors. The walls are yet to be plastered, though. There is also a temporary classroom, even though it has been there for a number of years.
Recently a dedicated building has been erected as a clinic and First Aid centre. Volunteer local medical staff visit on a regular basis.
There are two buildings used as offices for the teaching staff.
It is a Christian school, and recently the assembly hall has been finished. It also doubles as a church on Sundays.
In May 2010 an ideal premises, which formerly was a school, was leased as an orphanage. The building is ideal, in that it is in two mirror halves, one for girls and one for boys. We are now looking after 16 orphans here. This has been a great answer to prayer, as previously the orphans were not able to be under one roof.
